About Playball Kids
Movement, Sport and Wellbeing Program for Children Aged 2–8
Playball Kids is a movement, sport and wellbeing program for children aged 2–8, designed to support early childhood development, school transition skills, and lifelong learning.
At the heart of Playball is a simple belief:
children learn through movement — and when the body is engaged, the brain is ready to learn.
Our lessons go beyond physical activity. Each experience is intentionally designed to support the whole child — physical, social, emotional and cognitive development — through structured, engaging activities that build skills over time.
What We Develop in Every Child
Everything we do is focused on developing four essential outcomes that support children in early learning and everyday life. These outcomes are developed through play-based learning, where movement, sport and wellbeing are integrated into every lesson.
Confidence
feeling safe to try, explore, and take on new challenges
Competence
developing fundamental movement skills and independence
Communication
understanding, listening, and connecting with others
Capability
adapting, coping, and applying skills across different environments
Why the Early Years Matter
The early years are a critical window for development. During this time, children are building the foundations for how they move, learn, relate to others, and participate in the world around them.
Children today need more than just opportunities to be active — they need structured experiences that help them:
- regulate their energy and emotions
- participate confidently in group environments
- communicate and follow instructions
- build resilience through challenge and success
Playball provides these experiences in a way that is intentional, supportive, and developmentally aligned.
The Playball Method
The Playball program is guided by The Playball Method — a structured, evidence-informed approach that brings together curriculum design, teaching practice, and child development outcomes.
This ensures every lesson is:
- intentional and purposeful
- inclusive and accessible
- developmentally appropriate
- engaging and progressive
Behind every lesson are integrated frameworks that support physical literacy, wellbeing, and meaningful learning outcomes, ensuring children are not just active, but truly learning through movement.
Founded with Purpose
Playball Australia is led by Tammy Ceppi, who has over 30 years of experience working with young children through movement, sport and wellbeing.
Having introduced Playball to Australia more than three decades ago, Tammy has been at the forefront of developing a program that goes beyond traditional sport — one that supports how children learn, grow, and build confidence in the early years.
Her work has always been guided by a clear focus:
to create meaningful, structured experiences that support children not just in developing physical skills, but in becoming confident, capable, and connected individuals.
Today, that vision continues to shape Playball, supporting children, educators, and families through a program that is purposeful, trusted, and deeply aligned with early childhood development.

Building Foundations for Life
Everything we do is guided by a simple mission — to empower children through movement, sport and wellbeing by developing confidence, competence, communication and capability, the foundations they need to participate, connect, and thrive in school and in life.
Because when children feel confident, capable, and connected, they are better prepared for everything that comes next.
