Playball Kids: Powering Up Australia’s Early Years Vision

Playbal Coach - Earlychildhood education

At Playball Kids, we see the early years as a powerful window for shaping confident, capable, and curious young learners. It’s during this time that the foundations for lifelong wellbeing and learning are laid — through movement, connection, and play. That’s why we proudly align our programs with the Australian Government’s Early Years Strategy 2024–2034and the updated Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2.0), both of which outline a bold national vision for strengthening early childhood development across Australia.

The Early Years Strategy recognises that what happens before the age of five has a profound impact on a child’s future.

This aligns naturally with our mission at Playball. From day one, our focus has been on empowering children through movement — not just to build physical skills, but to support the full spectrum of their development. When children bounce, balance, throw, catch, or problem-solve their way through a Playball session, they’re also building neural pathways, emotional regulation, spatial awareness, and the confidence to try something new. These are not small wins. They are foundational milestones that contribute to a child’s readiness for school, for relationships, and for life. The early years are not just preparation for the future — they are the future in motion, and every Playball class is designed to make the most of that opportunity.

Our sessions are intentionally inclusive and developmentally responsive.

Every child, regardless of ability or background, is supported to participate, progress, and feel proud of their growth. Our coaches work hard to create safe, encouraging environments where children are free to explore, learn, and connect. By embedding inclusive practices and culturally respectful approaches, we reflect the Strategy’s emphasis on equity and belonging.

We also place a strong emphasis on using evidence-based teaching.

Our curriculum is grounded in research around child development, using clear instruction and engaging repetition to help children move from exploration to mastery. Whether it’s learning to throw, balance, bounce, or catch — every skill builds towards something bigger: confidence in motion.

But we know that real impact doesn’t happen in isolation. That’s why Playball prioritises family engagement. We see parents and caregivers as partners and keep them connected to their child’s learning through regular communication, shared insights, and a shared sense of progress and celebration.

Looking ahead, we’re also focused on how movement skills support broader educational goals. As the Strategy encourages future-focused and integrated learning, Playball is proud to build the early foundations that support STEAM thinking: problem-solving, creativity, coordination, and persistence.

The Early Years Strategy is a timely and welcome framework for strengthening support for young children and their communities.

At Playball Kids, we’re energised by its vision — and we’re proud to be moving in step with it.

Always learning,
Tammy Ceppi – Founder & CEO Playball Australia.
